The first 100% vegan luxury hotel has opened in Costa Rica

The country’s first vegan boutique hotel is now open, offering a luxurious experience for tourists and locals alike.

A new hotel is now open in Costa Rica, offering a 100% vegan experience for tourists and locals.

Mother Earth Vegan Hotel is the first completely vegan and plant-based hotel to open in the destination beach town of Tamarindo.

With fourteen guest rooms, a culinary plant-based restaurant, a rooftop yoga studio and a natural saltwater pool, Mother Earth Vegan Hotel has everything you need for the ultimate luxury experience.

Everything is certified vegan, from the wines served in the bar and restaurant to the furnishings and cleaning products, so you can be sure that your holiday is 100% cruelty-free.

Moreover, the hotel is committed to sustainability and is powered by solar energy – the perfect eco-friendly method for a property bathed in eternal sunshine. Additionally, the hotel uses a water conservation system that recycles grey water into clean water and the restaurant Off The Grid has a dedicated zero-waste pledge.

Interested in what the restaurant has to offer? At Off The Grid you can indulge in delights such as the decadent Mother Earth Burger, Philly Cheesesteak, Buffalo Cauliflower Wings, and Coconut Crème Brûlée. Are you salivating yet?

‘A plant-based destination’

The family is elated about being the first to bring this concept to Costa Rica, and in a statement sent to Vegan Food and Living, they explained:

“The vegan community is growing and with it the need for a hospitality experience that caters to them.

“Costa Rica is a predominantly meat-centric country and as vegans, we struggled.

“With such an abundance of fresh ingredients at our doorstep, we were driven to create a plant-based destination for like-minded travellers visiting this beautiful country.

“The feedback has been incredible; our unique space is about soul and authenticity. We could not be happier for the validation.”

The hotel had a successful soft opening on the 5th March weekend, with several room bookings and a fully booked restaurant.
